  Annandale, in collaboration with our trusted Spanish sherry cask supplier, has secured highly sought-after Ruby and Tawny Port barrels. These casks originate from one of the oldest and most renowned Port wine producers in Portugal, with a history dating back to 1756, founded by the Portuguese monarchy. This establishment marks a significant chapter in Portuguese wine history, particularly for Port wine from the Douro Valley.

  These American white oak casks are used to mature Fine Ruby Port for three years. Ruby Port is dominated by red and dark fruit flavors, including cherries, blackberries, and plums. Compared to Tawny Port, Ruby Port offers a more fruit-forward influence, contributing a brighter, fresher, and more vibrant characteristic to Annandale’s whisky.

  Annandale’s new-make spirit matured in these Ruby Port casks is expected to produce a clean, malty single malt with a light fruity character. Anticipated flavors include strawberries, raspberries, and plums, followed by a delicately sweet malty character, with undertones of vanilla and spice.
