  We have sourced exclusive Red Châteauneuf-du-Pape barrels from a highly acclaimed but anonymous winery, renowned for producing some of the finest Grand and Premier Crus in the region. Their winemaking philosophy emphasizes hand-harvesting, minimal intervention, and wild fermentation, allowing natural vineyard yeasts to shape the character of their wines. Their commitment is to quality above all else, meaning they only release wines that meet their exacting standards.

  These French oak casks originate from the Allier and Vosges forests, near Jupilles, personally selected by the winemaker and toasted by Tonnellerie Chassin. Oak from these regions is known for its tight grain, allowing for a slow, gentle extraction of flavors during aging. The casks were previously used to mature Châteauneuf-du-Pape wine—primarily made from Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre—for 12 to 18 months. This process enhances the cask’s ability to impart rich, ripe fruit notes without overwhelming woodiness, resulting in an elegant, refined, and well-balanced whisky.

  . We anticipate that these casks will introduce layers of ripe red and black fruits, such as blackberry, dark cherry, and plum, into Annandale’s fruit-forward spirit. Additional influences of earthy garrigue (the wild herbs of Provence), warming spice, and subtle leather notes will contribute depth and complexity, bringing out some of the tropical fruit characteristics we have discovered during sampling.
